Design and analysis of multi‐layer SIW coupler to use in phased array antenna feed network

In this paper, a directional coupler is designed using the substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) method. The SIW consists of double-layer with transverse rectangular slots in middle two layers. proposed contains three ports. placement ports considered based on generalization power divider network. Each layer printed 0.508 mm Rogers RT/Duroid 5880 ( ε r = 2.2 $\epsilon _r=2.2$ and t n δ 0.0009 $tan \delta =0.0009$ ). coupling level basically controlled by number size slots. This ratio changes from −5 dB to −13 dB. It complicated design single-layer feed network for two-dimensional phased array antenna. can be easily generalized 2D antenna that large phase shifter elements. simulated CST software. results analyses, simulations experiments indicate good performances coupler.
